The seven of them form a sort of special task force group, the members being picked because of their special abilities (see listing). As Josiah is the team's leader, assistent director Orrin Travis with the FBI is the one that assembled the team. There exists at least two other, similar teams. The teams are mostly kept secret, known only to a few persons inside the bureau. Their purpose is assignements that deals with the occult, extrasensory abilities, unexplained phenomena, etc.
Chris, Buck and JD are college students, JD in his first year.
JD is also Buck's younger cousin, having spent half his childhood living with his aunt and uncle after his mother passed away.
Nathan is in med school. The four of them is sharing a town house near the college they're all attending.
Josiah is his usual age (as in the series). Originally born in India to missionairy parents, he married and lived for several years of his adult life in India. After his wife died from illness, he moved back to the States, with a substantial fortune. Controlling the Sanchez family industries, he devotes most of his time to the younger team members who he cares a lot for.
Ezra and Vin first met in a foster home. They ran away together after a year in Ella and Walter Gaines' care. Ezra has diabetes and needs insuline shots regularly to stay well.
After being taken into custody by Orrin Travis after a string of robberies, the two are eventually becoming members of the team, and moves in with Chris, JD, Buck and Nathan.
Powers:
Josiah: telepath
Nathan: healing hands, is able to 'see' where someone are hurt or sick just by touch alone
Chris: clairvoyant, has dreams that foretell the future
Buck: is able to read an object's history by touching it. Can also 'see' a house history by being in it.
JD: no special gifts, except for an outstanding talent when it comes to computers
Vin: can make people bend to his will, usually by telling them what to do. If emotional enough, he doesn't need to say the words out loud, just looking at them and thinking it will be enough
Ezra: is able to read everything about a person when touching said person's skin.
Nathan has had his ability all his life. Josiah, Chris, Buck, Vin and Ezra developed their powers in the mid- or late teens.
