The BI website is now well established and although we don’t know where they come from, it is being visited with acceptable frequency.

We want to make it the authoritative source of information about the theology and practice of baptism, and not just a propaganda base for our particular standpoint. That is why we have a major section on theology as well as practice.

If you’ve not had a look, can I suggest an initial “route-map”? Once you’re in (and it loads quite quickly) surf through the five key sections. If you’re not an inveterate surfer, click on the “Advice?” button which gives more detailed suggestions of how to proceed. There’s also “A Good Starting Point” (extracts from the “Timeless Update”) and a search facility.

We really do want this to be a comprehensive, authoritative and respected site, so all suggestions for improvement are welcome. A current gap is denominational information, since try as we will, we have not been able to obtain authoritative statements from other denominations about their baptismal theology and practice. If you have access to these, please let us know. We are also keen to catch “breaking news” - a news page with only old news is a bit daft.

Some have asked for a “chat line” built in, but it’s not worth the expense and difficulty. What we really need is a good flow of articles and letters and comments which we can insert - however brief. If you see any helpful article about baptism, or an extract from a book, please tell us.

We are now officially linked to the C of E, church newspapers, and Praxis indices, and are seeking other links. So keep my incoming e-mail line busy!
