The Church Electoral Roll The Electoral Roll is a list of people who are committed members of the church. Ideally it consists of all those who worship with us regularly and who follow Jesus in their personal lives. What are the advantages of being on it? You can attend the Annual Parochial Church Meeting and speak and vote. You can stand for election for the PCC and the Deanery Synod, and serve as a sidesman. It gives you a voice in church affairs. What is the commitment in being on it? The archbishops have issued a guide to this (see below): it means being active in practical Christianity and support of the church. This includes financial support. In Bradford, 12.5% of the Parish Share is based on Roll numbers, so it costs the church about £34 in Parish Share each time someone joins the Roll.
Should I be on the Electoral Roll?
How do I join? Ask Evelyn for a declaration form and return it by 24th February. John Hartley
