This year the ten local churches in our area (3 Anglican, 3 Methodist, 2 Roman Catholic and 2 United Reformed) are holding a joint course for Lent. It’s all about the “big issues” of our world today: what Christians believe about them and how we respond.

We’re meeting at St Andrew’s because they have lots of rooms for groups. We’ll sing a hymn, listen to well-known Christians on tape, and have some live input from local people. After refreshments we’ll discuss in groups, feed back our thoughts, and sing and pray to finish. Sessions will finish at 9pm. We can arrange some transport.

The course is free (donations are welcome for the £2 course booklet and materials), and you can just turn up if you want (but for our planning we’d quite like to know in advance who is coming so we can get enough booklets). We can’t promise you all the answers, but we can promise you lively discussions, friendly faces, and food for thought. We look forward to seeing you.

John Hartley
