Welcome to Alpha
St Luke's Church begins its first "Alpha" course in September. The course will run for the autumn term on Sunday evenings (with a break for half-term) at 6.30pm. Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the meaning of life. It consists of a series of talks which tackle key issues relating to the Christian faith, and a chance each evening to get to know others over a meal and to discuss whatever issues are on participants' minds. No question is ever rejected, and no topic is ever ruled out of order. We don't promise instant answers to everything, but we promise honesty and a real effort to find out the truth. (It is OK to come along and say nothing, but most people find they can't keep quiet!) It's free, and it is run in nearly 30,000 places all over the world. People from Eccleshill have enjoyed "Alpha" at Bradford Cathedral and other local churches in the past - so now we're biting the bullet and running one of our own. You can find lots about the course at http://alphacourse.org , including stories from people who went and tried it for themselves. We look forward to seeing you from 12th September. John Hartley
