Foundations of Faith

Sunday Evenings: 6.30pm to 8.30pm
each week from September 24th to December 10th.

Bradford Diocese’s “Foundations of Faith” course is being run again this autumn, in seven locations across the diocese - and St Luke’s Eccleshill is one of them. Different places are offering different times during the week, but we have decided to use the traditional “evensong” slot of 6.30pm on a Sunday Evening.

Two of our church members went on last year’s course. They enjoyed it very much, so you can ask Marie and Linda what they thought if you’d like some feedback. We’re hoping to have some takers from Bolton and Wrose as our churches are trying to work more closely together, but we are also hoping to have people coming from across the deanery, and maybe beyond.

The course was devised by the Wilson Carlile College of Evangelism (Church Army), and has been adapted by Bradford Diocese to encourage ministry and mission. It covers six topics:

  • Using the bible
  • Christian belief
  • The Church
  • Mission matters
  • Worship
  • Spirituality & Vocation
and we think it is suitable for those who have been to the “Alpha” course or something similar, and are now ready for a little bit more depth or challenge in thinking about their faith and putting it into action.

If possible, please book by 12th August. If the cost is a problem we can probably find a way around it if you ask the vicar.

John Hartley

Those intending to come need to book: forms are available from us.
