I tell you the truth ... no, not I!

You should see a media player panel above here:
if it doesn't work, see footnote

I tell you the truth ... no, not I!

I tell you the truth,
that before the cock's crow,
you'll deny that you know
me, said Jesus.
No, not I. Lord, not I. No, not I.

I tell you the truth,
Satan longs to destroy
all the love and the joy
that you've found in me.

Now tell me the truth
as you sit by this fire:
are you with this Messiah
they've arrested?
No, I'm not. Girl, I'm not. No, I'm not.

Now tell me the truth:
are you here as a spy
with that man who will die
in the morning?
No, I'm not. Sir, I'm not. No, I'm not.

Now tell us the truth:
for the words that you say,
tell us you're a disciple
of Jesus?
No, I'm not. Friends, I'm not. No, I'm not.

I tell you the truth:
Jesus looked in the eye
of the one who denied
that he knew him.
(Instrumental)

Shall we tell the truth?
Do we love him, our friend?
For he loves to the end,
For he's Jesus.

Music

Windows Media Player. When you click the left-hand "play" button your computer should have started to play the tune. If it didn't, you might be able to get the tune by clicking here, or by right-clicking the link, choosing "save target as", saving it onto your computer, and then opening it with a music-playing program.

Please remember that a midi file of a tune isn't supposed to be a state-of-the-art musical arrangement - it is only supposed to give a basic idea of how the tune goes. Any reasonable organist / keyboard player / music group could make it sound far better.
