Work on the roof
New joists to support the ceiling above the steps in the south porch, with the south face of the tower visible behind. The fence-panelling is to prevent damage to the stained-glass window behind, and the box-like wall is the outside of the walk-in cupboard where the rot was first noticed. (Some people say this is the original "monkey-room", since you have to be a bit of a monkey to climb into it.) Next picture
