wow...crazy. it's kinda scary to think about, and it could happen. the fact that i never even thought about it
makes this postcard poignant to me. what makes it interesting is that it can be interpreted in several ways.

Yngwie Malmsteen
"this one is actually (?) by bach."
LOL! uhhh...i'm pretty sure that's not quite was bach had in mind. neo-classical trips me out. yngwie is skilled--really skilled, but he destroys the classical pieces he covers. what makes music so powerful and moving is the emotion behind it, which is about speed and timing. he just blows right through everything so there's suspense. notes lose their tonal weight and the music loses its finesse. the times i've heard him play actual classical guitars, he plays a lot of dead notes. he's gotta be capable of playing cleanly. he just tries to play it so damn fast that the music falls apart and you can barely make out which song he's playing. terrible. |

Heart fucking rocks, especially this song. the intro is a nice flurry of notes. almost spanish
sounding. like classical spanish guitar or something. the galloping strumming of two chords...then
the electric kicks in with the drums: sweet 70's rock. the vocals are perfect. it starts off
soft, mellow, subdued. again, very much 70's. then, right before the chorus, it intensifies and
the drums take on a dance-like quality (sloshing hi-hat).
i imagine it to be a song about love in a time of war and unrest. that certainly was the case
in the 70's. "bombs and the devils, and the kids keep comin' / no way to breathe easy, no time to be young"
sounds like she's singing about how the government was sending young men to war. i could be wrong.
great song either way.
Title: Crazy On You
Artist/Band: Heart
Song #: 36
If we still have time, we might still get by
Every time I think about it, I wanna cry
With bombs and the devil, and the kids keep comin'
No way to breathe easy, no time to be young
But I tell myself that I was doin' all right
There's nothin' left to do at night
But to go crazy on you
Crazy on you
Let me go crazy, crazy on you, oh
My love is the evenin' breeze touchin' your skin
The gentle, sweet singin' of leaves in the wind
The whisper that calls after you in the night
And kisses your ear in the early moonlight
And you don't need to wonder, you're doing fine
My love, the pleasure's mine
Let me go crazy on ya
Crazy on you
Let me go crazy, crazy on you, ohhh
Wild man's world is cryin' in pain
What you gonna do when everybody's insane
So afraid of one who's so afraid of you
What you gonna do...ohhh...
Ooooo...Crazy on ya
Crazy on you
Let me go crazy, crazy on you
I was a willow last night in my dream
I bent down over a clear running stream
Sang you the song that I heard up above
And you kept me alive with your sweet flowing love
Crazy
Yeah, crazy on ya
Let me go crazy, crazy on you, oh
Crazy on ya
Crazy on you
Let me go crazy, crazy on you, yeah
Crazy on ya
Crazy on you
Let me go crazy, crazy on you, ohhh...
