The Command Staff is the group that actually runs the ship. The Command Staff consists of the Commanding Officer, Executive Officer and all of the department heads.

The Junior Staff consists of several positions such as Chief of Communications, Command Personnel Officer, the Assistant Department Heads, and the Acting Ensign who works as assistant to the Commandant of the Cadets. These people back up the Command Staff.
